The long lost off-the-beaten-track Jungle clearing, that contains a small collection of games that didn’t quite fit anywhere else. They’re not CRASH Smashes, they’re not by Ultimate, and they’re not titles I spent my youth glued to… but they’re far too good, iconic or laughably terrible to be left out in the cold.
Inside this clearing you’ll find a small sample of my personal favourite retail releases, homebrew gems, and other titles that may not necessarily be the best example of gaming code ever written, but are nonetheless an important part of Spectrum gaming history.

A bit about me
I’m a self-confessed full-time geek, nerd, and all-round dork, and I wear those titles with pride. My passion for all things retro started with gaming. I’ve always felt a deep nostalgia for the computers and consoles I grew up with, and over the years I’ve poured an embarrassing amount of time — and a not-insignificant amount of money — into collecting machines and games from what I consider the golden age of gaming: the late 70s through to the early 2000s. Those chunky cartridges, whirring tape decks, and CRT screens still make me grin like I’m ten years old.
But in recent years, my love of retro has expanded far beyond gaming. I’ve developed a real appreciation for mid-century style — the décor, the furniture, the artwork, the whole aesthetic of the 60s, 70s, and 80s. There’s something wonderfully warm and characterful about it. So when I redecorated my place a few years ago, I decided to give it a subtle 70s vibe. Nothing too loud or MFI, just a gentle nod to the era: warm brown tones, clean lines, and a few carefully chosen art pieces that make the space feel like a modern home with a retro soul.
It’s become a bit of a personal mission, really — blending nostalgia with everyday life, surrounding myself with things that spark memories while still feeling stylish and lived-in. Retro isn’t just a hobby for me anymore; it’s part of how I shape my environment and express who I am.
